The ISI UGB paper requires you to write complete mathematical proofs — a skill not taught in any JEE coaching. Your mentor (an ISI/CMI alumnus or Olympiad medalist) trains you in: proof by contradiction, mathematical induction (strong and weak forms), constructive proofs, combinatorial arguments, and inequality proofs (AM-GM, Cauchy-Schwarz, Jensen's). Each session includes solving 2-3 subjective problems end-to-end.
ISI tests topics that JEE doesn't cover: Graph Theory basics, Pigeonhole Principle applications, advanced combinatorics (Burnside's lemma, generating functions), modular arithmetic and number theory, and functional equations. These topics are introduced gradually alongside your JEE Mathematics preparation.
